As per US rules, it is prohibited to smoke inside the airport. There are zones available outside the airport at the Arrivals and Departures Level.
Following is the map for smoking spots at the airport. Designated smoking areas outside & away from terminal doors are available. Follow orange signs.
There are three smoking areas past security at LAX - one in the Tom Bradley International Terminal, one in Terminal 2, and one in Terminal 7. Otherwise all of the lounges are non-smoking.
